First broadcaster in Latin America signs deal for multiple Viz Mosart control rooms

Vizrt Ltd. announced today a deal worth USD 960,000 for the implementation of the Viz Mosart control room automation systems with a broadcaster in Latin America. This is the first broadcaster in Latin America to adopt Viz Mosart for control room automation. The customer chose Viz Mosart after a thorough evaluation process and seeing the successful implementations at other Viz Mosart customer sites around the world.

The broadcaster has been a Vizrt customer for many years with a full range of broadcast graphics and media asset management systems. The inclusion of the Viz Mosart installation creates a complete Vizrt infrastructure used by the broadcaster for their daily production workflow.

Viz Mosart is a control room automation system that works with all major broadcast systems in the control room and studio. The customer purchased Viz Mosart to manage multiple control rooms, essentially allowing Viz Mosart to produce all their live shows. The system gives the broadcaster greater flexibility, speed of response, and cost-effectiveness in live broadcasts.

“Having championed live broadcast production in Europe, we are very pleased to be expanding Viz Mosart into Latin America,” said Martin Burkhalter, Vizrt CEO. “The fact that this broadcaster has chosen Viz Mosart as the primary automation system for all of their control rooms proves that Viz Mosart is a very powerful and versatile solution and it is a tribute to the reliability of the product in our installed base. We are looking forward to further growth in the Latin American market with this powerful tool.” (Source: Vizrt press release)

Vizrt signs US$1.6m MAM deal with Asia-Pacific broadcaster

Vizrt Ltd. announced today a deal worth USD 1.6 million for the implementation of media asset management (MAM) products with a broadcaster in Asia-Pacific. The purchase is an upgrade of the customer’s existing MAM workflows to enterprise-scale. The broadcaster currently uses the Vizrt Ardome Media Asset Management, which is primarily managing transmission focused workflows. The customer is now looking to leverage the platform across other parts of the business and to take advantage of functionality available in the latest Viz One version.

The initial stage of the project is the installation of a new Viz One MAM system to act as a centralized storage area for all media within the enterprise, allowing for the use of this media across all areas of the business – including web, mobile devices, IPTV, and of course, broadcast television. Media will be accessible by the various departments throughout the organisation, such as archivists, editors, producers, engineers, sales and legal staff.

Subsequently, the existing Viz Ardome system workflows will be migrated to Viz One to allow all media to flow through one system, thereby maximising content flow efficiencies.

“In making this investment, the broadcaster will be able to leverage its content across various delivery channels, increasing its economic value, while at the same time improving efficiencies,” said Martin Burkhalter, Vizrt CEO. “This project solidifies Viz One as the premiere media asset management solution available in the market today.” (Source: Press release)

Vizrt signs USD 1.8 million broadcast graphics deal with a sports channel in Asia

Vizrt Ltd. announced today a deal worth USD 1.8 million for the implementation of broadcast graphics (BG) products with a sports channel in Asia. The channel is a new Vizrt customer,  who will use the purchased systems for live in-game graphics and in-studio shows.

“Sports broadcasting is very prominent in Asia, and this deal shows how our offering matches the requirements of this important market,” said Martin Burkhalter, Vizrt CEO. “We are very pleased to have been selected by this ambitious new channel and look forward to growing together with our customer.”

The deal includes multiple Viz Trio systems, Vizrt’s character generator (CG), for building playlists of graphics and playing them back during a live match and during in-studio shows.

The deal further includes Viz Arena, which allows the sports channel to add virtual graphics to the field or track during a live sports event. This capability gives the customer the option to add customized branding, information graphics or advertisements to the broadcast.

Viz Libero will provide sports analysis capabilities for cricket and field hockey. Viz Libero combines realistic looking 3D replays and advanced virtual graphics to create unique perspectives of key plays and controversial calls.

In the studio, the channel will use Viz Virtual Studio to create and control customized virtual sets for each broadcast. Multiple Viz Engines are part of the deal to render all graphics in real-time, for every live broadcast.

Vizrt signs USD 950,000 deal with Thai PBS for a complete Broadcast Graphics solution

Vizrt Ltd. announced today a deal worth USD 950,000 with Thai PBS, the only public broadcasting service in Thailand. The purchase includes a full complement of Vizrt’s broadcast graphics tools for the graphics department, newsroom, control room, and studio.

“Southeast Asia in general, and Thailand especially, have become very sophisticated broadcast markets” commented Martin Burkhalter, Vizrt CEO. “Thai PBS selected Vizrt for its ability to meet the specific demands of this market, our extensive local support capabilities, and because Vizrt has proven to be a trusted partner and a quality brand for broadcasters”

In the design department, designers will work on creating a new look for Thai PBS using Viz Artist, Vizrt’s 3D design platform. Viz Artist will power the channel’s ability to produce daily graphics for news, promotions and the broadcaster’s various Virtual Studios.

The purchase also includes Vizrt’s template-based newsroom workflow driven by Viz Content Pilot. Journalists in the newsroom access graphics templates directly from within their newsroom control systems (NCRS). Once the templates are edited, the journalists build playlists that are then triggered live on-air in the control room using Viz Content Pilot.

The TV network’s studio is driven by Viz Virtual Studio. This virtual set technology allows the network to have complete and flexible creative control of their virtual set content. It also allows templated graphics from the newsroom to be triggered as part of the set.

All graphic content throughout the network is rendered in real-time with Viz Engine.
