Focus on Judges for the 2011 AIBs – from Algeria to the USA

The judges for the 2011 AIBs will soon be setting to work to review the hundreds of entries from all over the world and to choose the winners in 15 categories that cover the whole range of factual international TV and radio broadcasting – from single news events to best creative features, as well as personality of the year, enabling technology and supporting marketing.

We are proud to have a distinguished panel of 41 media experts and they are drawn from all over the world, with 23 countries represented: from Algeria, Kenya and South Africa in Africa; from Brazil, Canada and USA in America; from P.R China, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and Turkey in Asia; from Australia; from Czech Republic, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia and the UK in Europe; and from Iran, Qatar and UAE in the Middle East.

You can find the full list of judges here with links to their biographical details.

The winners they select, together with the winner of the People’s Choice award which is the one category decided by online voting of the general public, will be announced at the AIBs gala awards ceremony in London on Wednesday 9th November

Preparing for 2011 Launch

The Association of International Broadcasting (AIB) is preparing hard for the launch of the 2011 AIBs, international media excellence awards.  After last year’s increased entries and highly successful awards event, whose highlights you can see in a video on theaibs.tv home page, we are looking forward to even more entries and enquiries are already coming in from those wanting to reserve the date of the 2011 AIBs ceremony (Wednesday November 9th, so book it in your diaries).

There will be one or two different categories this year to reflect the changing face of broadcasting and the widening scope of member’s activities.  Also, for the second year of the People’s Choice category, we will be choosing a subject that is a current major focus of world news and one that will continue to evoke much comment and discussion over the rest of this year and beyond.

Much more detail will follow shortly.
